Pre-Service and Post Sugaring Care
Pre-Service
Skin Prep- Shower if possible, sugar adheres best on clean, dry skin. Please avoid all oils, moisturizers and deodorants before service.
Hair Length- Hair should be about 1/4 - 1/2 inch long. Please note: We do not trim before service, I would advise a trim to the aforementioned length for your comfort but if in doubt of length, avoid the trim so as not to go too short. If the hair is too short we will have to reschedule the appointment until it grows out and you will be charged a late cancel fee for the time booked.
Sensitivity- If you are more skin-sensitive, please take your preferred pain killer 30 minutes before service. If you are using a Lidocaine based numbing cream, two coats are helpful. The first coat should go on 45 minutes prior to service, and the second at 30 minutes.
Contraindications With Sugaring
Medications can greatly affect our skin and how it reacts to sugaring. Listed below are some common medications and how long you should be off of them before you get sugared. If ever in doubt, please ask your physician prior to service. And as always, if anything changes, please inform your esthetician before service!

Post Care
Everyone has skin unique to them and their lifestyle. Aftercare may need to be tweaked from time to time to fluctuate with what your skin is going through. To start with, it is always best to try not to do too much so we can see what will work rather than guessing what product is not working in the mix.
General Aftercare Guidelines:
-Avoid touching the area. Our fingers carry a lot of bacteria so it is best to avoid all of that freshly exfoliated skin!
-Avoid exfoliation, hot tubs, tanning, extra hot showers, saunas or exercise for the first 24 hours.
-After 24 hours, start exfoliating 2-3 times a week with an antimicrobial SpaCell and moisturize daily.
-If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out via email info@sweethavenspa.com
Note: Any client under the age of 18 needs a parental consent form filled out at the salon in person with a parent or guardian.
